Hiring Standards

WellStaff selects all clinical based solely on each individual's qualifications as they relate to the position being filled, without regard to race, color, religion age, sex, national origin ancestry military status, veteran's status, disability or any other characteristic protected by law.

Our minimum hiring guidelines are as follows:

  1. Ensure that there is an approved facility job description
  2. Thorough review of all candidate applications
  3. Obtain proof of identity, I-9 form, photo identification (passport, license)
  4. Obtain primary source verification including sanctions, limitations, or relinquishment.
  5. Obtain primary source proof of formal education when associated with residency or advance practice.
  6. 2 Professional management references
  7. Verify work history through references or past employment as provided on the application
  8. Perform NPDB, OIG, OFAC, NSOPR, SND, DPL, Medicare/Medicaid searches.
  9. Obtain verification of BLS as a minimum standard
  10. Verify ACLS, PALS, NALS as appropriate per job description
  11. Conduct criminal background checks in all state where candidate is licensed to practice
  12. Candidates must complete skills assessments for each area of specialty
  13. Candidates must receive a score of 80% or higher on all competency tests.
  14. OSHA/HIPAA education and testing for all candidates.

Wellstaff verifies and documents compliance with applicable health screening and immunization requirements established by law, regulation, the firms policy or customer requirements.

  • Documentation of Hepatitis B series (or Declination)
  • Documentation of Immunity to Varicella (By Titer, Immunization or history)
  • Documentation of Immunity to MMR (Titer or immunizations)
  • Documentation of Immunity to Tuberculosis (PPD Skin Test or Chest X-ray if test is a first positive result
  • then follow CDC regulations and when applicable the state regulation.
